Losing track of time.

Sunday, December 02, 2012

Within the past year I have lost track of time, this year has not much but a blur of one bad event after another. Shortly after I discovered Spark People my father went into the hospital, he had a double pulmonary embolism (he was not good to start with, he broke his back two years ago and has been struggling since). The doctors said it was a miracle he survived, most people don't survive a single let alone a double. Then my little brother was arrested three times in one week on different charges each time. Followed by my father going back into the hospital. Then my father went into the hospital for a third time because he had contracted MRSA and had surgery to remove the infected muscle. My Grand Mother passed away unexpectedly, she was diagnosed with bone cancer not even a week before she died. The whole family thought she would live to see us in our graves, that's how determined and lively she was. Then my father had a car accident at +70mph. He got away with a few deep bruises and more blood thinners. Now I'm having medical issues of my own and cannot afford to see a doctor, I guess that's life.

On a positive side, I managed to stay active through it all. I herd of a job opening with Easter Seals at a summer camp for people with disabilities. I applied at the last minute and got the job. I made life long friends while I was there, and a new home away from home. At first it was terrible, I missed my bed back home, along with my friends and family, familiar surroundings, and home cooked meals. But that only lasted a couple days. No summer will ever be complete again without camp! I lost almost 30 pounds in the six and a half weeks I was there. (I gained it all back since then tho...)

    hello,
I want to extend to you my sympathy over losing your grandmother - i was very close to mine- and cried for a long time for her.

As for the family's illness - keep the faith and keep going .. i think, God gives us , for his reasons - gives us exposure to different things; I think, its a way to guide us , where we belong .. and since you work for Easter Seals - that kinda proves my point .

Your future seems, to be connected to medical issues .. so pray for courage - during this valley .. and SP is here for you too !

ps on a tech note - can you change your font ? its very small , and hard to read ? maybe go up one number ??

Sorry to hear of all the tragedy. Great job though on simply caring for yourself emotionally. May this coming new year bring you joy, grace, and love. Keep strong and keep taking the next step.
