After a week of cakes and brownies and donuts, they are finally finished or tossed. Yes, I have a sweet tooth, but I also know that that sweet tooth can be tamed with oranges and apples. I'm not doing well by my sweet tooth challenge by continuing to bring these types of thing in the house.
I know I still have things like granola bars dipped in chocolate, but fortunately I don't look in the kids snack drawer too often and they're mostly for my daughter's school snack (as well as other things like applesauce and simply fruit roll ups).
I'll be out christmas shopping today, so I'm going to look for other sweet things I can have in the house that won't cause a sugar migraine. You'd think having done this for many months (almost 11!) I'd be more in control of the sugar, but since it's the holidays and it is placed before me, it's much harder to get it back under control when it's thrust upon me in that way.
I like how fruit is seasonal. Right now I'm not getting anything local (except maybe fresh tomatoes from a greenhouse) so everything is imported from as far away as South America or Africa. I enjoy the Cutie clementines and the pomegranates which are the things in season right now as well as pears and apples.
I've been hovering around 180 for the last couple of months and I know why. Despite not tracking I am staying within a 3 pound average, I'm not doing all that bad, at least I'm maintaining. I think I'm going to try to maintain until the first of the year when everyone is back on the weigh loss kick because there are no more holidays to deal with. I'll be able to get that steam going to get that last 30 pounds off again. Even though I still have 30 pounds or so to get rid of, I have gotten rid of 50 pounds and will look so much better than last christmas picture this year.
I'm looking forward to my one year Sparkaversary on January 10th! Even if I don't lose anything else between here and there, I will be much lighter than a year ago!
