On the 20th of November, I turned in my first complete dissertation draft.
That same afternoon, I was invited to pre-Thanksgiving buffet.
That evening - I became sicker than I have in a long, long time - I was completely down for two days, and didn't recover until last Sunday.
So until last Monday, I had not done any exercising for three weeks. I was really out of it, and was eager to ease back into it.
Tuesday, Weds, and Friday were spent on the trainer, just trying to build some cardio back. I was feeling good by Saturday, but wimped out because of the cold.
I almost did today, but I was determined to get out, even if it was cold and windy. But as it turned out, the weather cooperated at the last minute and I pushed off on my Cervelo this afternoon to a rather balmy 44 degrees F with light winds.
It wasn't the fastest ride, but it was a nice 16 mile ride up and down the river. While it was a little windy on the way back, I really didn't mind too much. It was just sooo nice being out on the bike once again - and with ol' man winter at our backs, I don't know how much riding I will be able to get in before I'm relegated to the trainer for the rest of the winter. I can do cold - but I can't do icy bike paths.
Anyway, our local ski areas are starting to open up - time to jet out after work and do some night skiing!
Reboot! Re-Spark! Onward!
