Itís been a good week. After a lot of driving Thanksgiving week (almost 60 hours on the road) itís good to not sit in a car all day. After getting home, I got right back on track watching what I eat and working out. In the past, a trip like that would send me on a long slide back to old habits.
The long trip was worth it to see some family we hadnít seen in almost 10 years. Of course, 10 years ago I was also a very different person and I was at or near my heaviest. Some of the pictures they had of me from our last visit were downright frightening. So seeing me now, near my goal weight, was a bit of a shock to them. Itís funny that the first question I get from people who havenít seen me in years is to express concern about my health. Itís hard to convince them that I feel healthier than ever. My fitness level is excellent, Iím rarely sick and my health measurements (blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, etc.) are great. So, of course, everyone has to feed me. I managed to fend off a lot of the food and for the most part manage my portion size but I still ate a lot more than Iíve been used too. I didnít think it was worth it to offend them and I was comfortable that I would get back on track as soon as I got home so I just enjoyed the company and we had a great time.
So here are a couple of pictures from our trip. Do I look unhealthy? Have I gone too far with my weight loss?
