Just keep plugging

I felt more energetic today in spite of the short night's sleep last night. Was it because instead of my morning Shakeology, I had a Cool Chocolate Mint Clif bar (with caffeine)? Was it because I had no breads of any sort today? Is it because, six days in, the no-junk-food challenge is starting to show a result? Or maybe it is the long nap I took in the evening. I don't know! I just don't know!

I had pasta for dinner and am now about ready for bed even though it is early. It was whole wheat pasta, but a carb nonetheless. Maybe I am carb sensitive? Oh, who knows? Sugar definitely makes me sleepy, so it is not much of a stretch to guess that maybe I am carb sensitive. If so, maybe the milk and milk alternatives (almond and coconut milks) I have been using in my Shakeology, along with the Greek yogurt I have been eating, are what are making me tired. There is the lactose in milk, plus the added sugars in the Greek yogurts. {Sigh} I really thought I would be feeling pretty great by now. I guess this will be even more difficult than I thought. I will have to just keep plugging forward.

    Keep working at it and you will see results I'm sure. Maybe it's just early still and your body is detoxing. But you're doing great!

    If I had to take a guess, I'd say the Clif bar has more sugar in it than you're used to eating (with your no-junk challenge), so that probably gave you a little boost. I have gone sugar-free in the past and felt like death until I gave in and allowed myself a little. I know Clif bars have a lot of sugar because now I have gestational diabetes so I can't eat those anymore because of the high sugar level. They are so delicious, though! My fave is the macadamia nut one.
