Falling For Fitness Challenge - Week Six Update

Saturday, December 01, 2012

Well this week I did really well with my eating - lots of salads, homemade soup and I stayed out of the snack cupboard. My exercise plan is not going so well though. I haven't been able to get out for a run for almost two weeks now. We've had cold weather and snow for ages now. We did have a few half decent days but I had to take my son to a few different activities. I tried to get out running twice, but the path was too icy to risk it. This week I need to enlist my hubby's help to get my treadmill upstairs and set up for the winter.

I've spent a bit of time looking for more videos that I can do while my little guy is napping. Yoga is good of course, and I now have a couple more pilates and bellydance videos to add to my playlist. Now, on to this weeks Falling for Fitness Challenges. I loved taking five minutes to breathe every day. Because breathing happens whether we think about it or not, it's easy to go through the whole day without paying attention to it. It's amazing how calming it can be to take deep breaths. It really helps to lower my stress level when I'm starting to get overwhelmed by something. I have learned that breathing should be the first tool that I reach for when I'm feeling a little bit "off".

I completed a little vision board with online pictures this morning.

I haven't done a collage like this in a long time and it really gave me a boost of confidence. I used to feel like my health and fitness goals were impossible. Now I feel like my goals are actually within reach. Yay!

emoticon Great job on your eating! emoticon Hope you get your treadmill upstairs soon. emoticon Have you ever done Jillian's 30 Day Shred? It's a great 25 minute total body workout. If you've never done it and want to try it, it's on YouTube. We also have some great links on our Tracy Team to a few Tracy workouts. Since you like Belly Dancing you might like Tracy. Good luck posting your Vision Board. I'm completely Amish when it comes to computers, I'm lucky I know how to turn one on, but whenever I've had a PDF picture that I want to post to SP, I just hit "save as" and replace the pdf with jpg. So far, it's worked every time. But maybe it's because ignorance is bliss. emoticon
