Setting New Goals For The BLC Break.

Since this is Dec. l, I have decided to recommit to eating healthy and exercising every day.

I have never used the Spark Tracker because I always thought it took too much time; but starting today I will try to use it every day. I think doing it my way is not giving me the proper amount of vitamins and minerals (especially protein). The Spark Tracker will do that for me.

I am also planning to walk an extra mile every day. Since our town running track is right across the street from me, this is easy. On days when it is too cold or raining, the town indoor fitness center/pool is right next to the track.

Hopefully, I won't wimp out! Wish me luck! lol

    Great goals! I use the tracker and once you get used to it it takes very little time!

    It took me a while to get into the nutrition tracker, but now I love it. I can copy meals that I eat frequently from date to date. I can plan my meals for a week and it creates a shopping list. You can see how eating different foods affect calories and other nutrients. It will plan meals for you, but I found that a pain. Now I start from a blank daily plan and like it much better.

I am not as much a fan of the fitness tracker. But, now that my Fitbit links with it, all the work is done.

Congrats for you plan on ending the year as a healthier, more fit person!

    I've found the tracker to be the most helpful tool on Spark People! The article on Portion Distortion also was a wake-up call! Like Karen said, it gets easier as you use it often! Congratulations on your new goals - they are good ones! It's wonderful that you have such a convenient place to walk!

    Lizzie - great plans. I know you can do it. No need to wish you luck. I have gotten lax with my tracking and boy did I see a difference. I need to get back into the habit. Once ou get a routine established it won't be hard for you.

    Good for you, Lizzie. I often decide not to use the tracker and find that I tend to eat random food. The tracker keeps me mindful and seeing the whole picture. Although it does take time, it is time well spent.
That is great you have exercise facilities so close! We live in a rural area out in the country, so we are not close to anything, but we do have beautiful countryside!

    If it's important, you'll find a way. If it isn't, you'll find an excuse.
I use this quote a lot when I feel like not doing something It does two things makes me remember I'm important and give me the courage to let go with out making a excuse. tracking is hard I've stopped and started so many times it not even funny right now (for almost a month and half) I've been using the lose it site working for me and links with my fitbit Sparks people is where i stay for great positive people and info Best of luck

    The tracker gets easier once you fill up your favorites and grouped items. Good luck on your goals.
