What I love most about the Nutrition Tracker

It is food groupings..

When I started to use the tracker in June 2011, it took me some time to figure how it works.
It took some more time to collect my Favorites (about 180 foods - I rarely eat anything else).
A few days later I discovered how to save meals I often eat as Groupings.
I ended up with 40 Food Groupings, and I rarely eat anything else.

This means I can track my food daily in 2-3 minutes.
Another advantage is that sometimes, when I don't feel like tracking, I can stop doing it for a few weeks, and still know I'm eating right.
That's a wonderful feeling!

In earlier years I always felt guilty when I ate well-sized meal, thinking the food was too much and I was going to gain weight...
Now I know my portion sizes for maintenance, and I can enjoy all my food with clear conscience, knowing this food will only do me good.
Like today's breakfast: a huge bowl of oatmeal with a big orange : )

    Sometimes I wish that I ate the same stuff most of the time. I don't, though. I rarely measure when cooking and try new recipes all the time.

    I will say, though, that the nutrition tracker has eased my mind a few times when I though I went way over my goals, then entered everything and saw it wasn't so.

    Thanks for sharing your experience with it; it's good to know that some people do genuinely enjoy using the nutrition tracker!

    I love to use it on my iPhone app throughout the day. I also track my water and fitness on my app so I don't have to hop on a computer. The app also helps when I am sitting in a restaurant trying to decide what to order.

    You have just written my own experience with the nutrition tracker. I love it for the same reasons. I even entered a few recipes and it does the counts for me, and on those occasions where I *do* cook (rare) my favorite personal home-made recipes are there, in appropriate portion sizes!

    Once you're set up it is oh-so-easy, and it gives us oh-so-much confidence. Thanks, for a terrific tool!
