Well, I signed up for my first half marathon today: the Cleveland half marathon on May 19, 2012. i'm excited and scared at the same time. I have a training plan picked out, and two of my friends (who are also coworkers) are running it with me. I have very little doubt that I will be unprepared when the big day is here. But I'm still scared because it's my first one ever. Up till now, I've only done 5ks, and the two most recent ones (this past spring/summer) were terrible.
I plan to use these blogs as a daily workout journal (more thn anything else) to capture this "couch to half marathon" journy.
To cover this week:
I started week one of the training plan: ran Tuesday and Wednesday, meeting with one of my cohorts tomorrow for the third run of Week 1. Thursday I biked on my road bike (set up on a trainer). Today I did more of a liesurely work out via th Wii Fit, with a good deal of yoga in it.
I'm hoping that the Natatorium will have an awesome aquatics center so that I can add swimming to my cross training activities, as well as yoga on Sundays (my chosen rest day). I'll let you know tomorrow if that pans out - cross your fingers for me!
