I have fallen off track and slowly been losing the battle with my weight. For the past few months I have watched my weight fluctuate up and down. It has been hard to stick to a diet when eating patterns change from week to week. One week I am with my kids, and the next I am on my own. Plus, I am an emotional eater who like comfort foods. Now, though I am getting uncomfortable, from looking in the mirror, from clothes not fitting the way they should, from just carrying around this excess weight around. Once again I am looking for a new starting point. With my birthday around the corner, I am ready to go now...

Rather than looking for a diet to stick to, sounds like you might want to make dual menu plans. You'll have more control when you're alone, probably, but if you can plan ahead for the week with the kids perhaps you can reduce the amount of said comfort foods that get left around.
