Scary episode this morning

Just a quick update. Earlier today I had a scary episode. I was sitting at my desk drinking coffee and catching up on the news. I took a sip of coffee and at the same time needed to cough. There was a problem. I couldn't get up fast enough and coughed. When I coughed the coffee went down the wrong way. I could not catch my breath. I was gasping for air. Thankfully, I know that if I can somehow hit myself on the back a few times I'll be ok. Well, I ran into the bathroom and started whacking myself on the door frame. No relief. Shut the bathroom door and started whacking my back against the wall. After a couple minutes I was gasping less and eventually caught my breath. Needless to say I have never seen my face so red in my life. I have a red suitcase and that's about the color my face and neck were. I was still having some trouble breathing but I remembered my inhaler was on my desk (forgot there was one in my pocket - duh!) and used it. That helped regulate the breathing. Finally that coffee had to come up. After that I was ok. My Aunt called to say she was ready to run errands so I splashed water on my face to try and get normal color back - didn't work. By now my breathing was normal and I was feeling so much better. I had to tell my Aunt because I mean my face was blood red. She said my Granny would have the same thing happen to her. I told her I thought I was going to have to come over to her house, gasping so she could give me a couple whacks. That alarmed her. Needless to say every sip I took of my tea at lunch she was like "are you ok". Yes, I am fine. Chest hurts a bit from all that gasping for air and my back is a little worse for the wear but thank God I'm ok. Ya know, I never had this problem before I lost weight, if it had happened though I'd probably not be writing this. Anyway have a fantastic weekend. My dog and I have had a nice walk. A dog groomer opened up just a couple blocks from the house and we met her. She actually knew my dog already from when she worked for the vet's office. So that was nice. Hopefully next week we can get her in a much needed bath and trim.
