Thanks Bonnie for the reminder

Friday, November 30, 2012

I've just posted this on a thread on Positively Yours-A License to Succeed Team
in response to a post Bonnie (team leader)made

I said;

I walk every morning and smile at all coming in the opposite direction. There is one young Asian girl I see going to work and her smile literally lights up her face- such a wonderful thing to see at 8.30 LOL. So one day I said "sorry to be so personal but you have the most BEAUTIFUL smile!" Her smile got even broader and I swear she practically skipped on towards the bus stop.
Paying compliments brightens anyone's day.
Another thing I did last Crimbo was give way to others more in crowded shopping aisles and I deliberately slowed my pace and smiled at everyone. It made the stress of shopping that much more tolerable! Try it! You get your shopping done just as fast and feel more relaxed at the checkout

Bonnie is so right about connecting with others,especially at this time of year.
Her positivity is to applauded and spread.

    I already do this. It's how I get to know the staff and regulars at Waitrose. I love all the smiles and how are yous we exchange whenever I shop. Like you say, it makes the grocery shopping much less stressful. :-)

    I do this all the time and LOVE to see the reaction on the face of each person...........especially the ones who are frowning or looking like they could bite a steel pipe in half!!!!! Hopefully, I can lift the spirit of at least one or two....... emoticon

    I do agree with you, CAZ, totally. I always talk to everyone I can and also give way to them. And I THANK they when they do the right thing (like moving their shopping cart out of the way for me if I am coming down the same aisle. Usually it ends up in quite a conversation with both sides coming away in better moods. I would have guessed you were the same are so positive and upbeat and caring. If only more people would catch the bug too!

    Have a great evening and weekend, ikkle! emoticon emoticon

    I actually enjoy working at Christmas because everyone is so happy. I also find that it's possible to disarm a potential difficult customer by smiling at them. I then agree with all their complaints and sort them out before they go. Some are genuinely pleased. Others are a bit shell shocked that I was pleasant when they were expecting me to be the opposite. Nobody has ever said "Stop smiling at me".

    I smile at others when I am in stores, etc. A smile doesn't cost anything, but it's priceless when you see someone who looks down, turns a frown into a smile. emoticon
