And the Journey Begins..........

Day one..11 minute chair cardio workout..it's a start..breakfast..oatmeal & coffee...UNDER calorie count..YAY ME! I am working at achieving my goals..I have tried a million times before..to lose weight..exercise..eat right..it hasn't happened...but something just clicked inside of me as I sat looking at my precious lil grand babies pictures...I want to watch them grow up..to have families of their own..I want to spend all of the time that I can with the love of my life..my new husband James..who I love with every fiber of my being..at this time in my life I am finally happy...now THAT in itself is amazing...but getting my HEALTH back..so that I can cherish these wonderful gifts from God..is beyond amazing...they deserve to have me in their lives...and I am tired of being selfish just so that I can enjoy the taste of something going in my mouth...ENOUGH IS ENOUGH...and I pledge to my family that today marks the beginning of a new life...for ME...and for YOU....because your love is enough to keep me motivated!!

Welcome to SP. It's a great site! Be sure and sign up for Spark America and when you set up your exercises, just remove any you can't do or don't want and put in those you do. Be sure and schedule a day for cardio so you have access to the "other exercises" page where the walking, housework, playing with children etc. are to be found. When you are done, set up your Appointment calendar to send you reminders and when they come, click on the link then fitness and just check them off as you do them. Such a great feature. Use your spark points page to help you use and learn all the fantastic tools we have at this site. Visit others pages and get to know them better. Again, welcome to a great site.

Our loved ones are a very motivating force to get healthy! You have gotten off to a great start! I like to eat oatmeal for breakfast too. But you are starting out right with baby steps. We did not get this way overnight nor can we undo that fast. The seated cardio is a good choice for beginning but it is not easy by any means. I have done it myself while either sick or injured so I know is not was easy as it sounds! Great for you And remember key is drinking your water as well. 8 glasses a day is all you need! Keep up the great work!

Hi, I'm Nena and I wish you (and me) luck. But don't stop being selfish just change what you are selfish about. To lose the weight you will need to put YOU first sometimes. Be selfish about finding time to exercise. Be selfish about not making that special dish the whole family loves and you can't resist. You can do it! Grand Babies are awesome motivation!

Great blog. I commend you on setting your priorities and setting your goals. And you are right, LOVE is the key and that lives in SP.

I, too, have been on diet roller coasters all my adult life and now that I am at goal and on maintenance, I KNOW that I will succeed this time because of the incredible support and help from the wonderful people on SP.
