What? Exercise makes me feel good.

Yes I said it. I have found at least three forms of exercise that I like to do consistently
I do not care what I look like to others. I do it for me. I have seen others out there....
The Pool-
They put on a suit and hop in the pool. Men are the bravest all they have is the swim trunk... at least we get the option of putting on a one piece that helps hold in the sagging stomach. His bravery inspires me to put on my suit and do what I need to do for me.
No matter what our size we can walk... no longer are just skinny folks out there. Folks of all shapes and sizes are being seen on the sidewalks. I have also noticed there are more dog walkers. (mandatory walks) Seeing folks that look like me out there inspires me to get out there.
If it rains, snows or is icy, I can do Leslie Sansone's in-home walking program.

Stretch -
I love starting my day with the Classical Stretch program. It gets my blood flowing, gets rid of the am stiffness, I love how she instructs us to make the most of our workouts and truly use our muscles.
Yoga classes are divine too, but I have yet to set up a practice.

Speaking of practice, setting a schedule/plan for exercise is the only way for me to "Get er done."
Monday/Wed Swim
Mon-Fri Classical Stretch
Weekends are for walking.

This is my basic program, I need the structure and guidance. I'll probably have to step it up a bit. but at least this is in place.

I'll continue to experiment and expand my exercise options. What do you enjoy doing?

    It's great to find exercise you really enjoy!! What a difference it makes to feeling good and sustaining motivation.

I've been getting to the gym Monday Wednesday Friday: 30 minutes cardio (elliptical or rowing machine or treadmill) plus strength training (upper body/lowerbody/free weights/machines variations) plus abs and stretching. Often go Saturdays too . . . and then there's cross country skiing, hiking, and in the summer golf . . . on the weekends mostly.

    It is great to have your "go to" exercises in place. I think it makes me feel good too, but usually when it is over! TC and I have a half marathon to do on January 13th so we will continue our "long wogs" until then. But after that we will shift our emphasis to more hiking. I still love the fitness center group classes because they force me to work harder than I ever (EVER EVER) would on my own. I'm trying to do more of them.

    I've been a lifelong bike rider and walker. Exercise is truly my most effective therapy for mind and body.

    Sounds like an terrific and inspiring plan. My favourite is putting on my favourite music and making sure I dance every day lol. Its on when I cook, when I clean and I have 3 1hour dancin cardio workouts lol. I'm a dancin fool lol.
