This isn't so much a review as it is a comment. I went by Aldi's yesterday and saw that they had pumpkin spice coffee creamer for $1.49 (small bottle) in the dairy case and so I picked up some for my husband. I tend to drink my coffee black, so haven't used it yet, but after the wonderful pumpkin spice cream cheese I bought there being so yummy, I would be very surprised if the coffee creamer wasn't as well. Once he starts to use it, I'll let everyone know his verdict.
They had mangos for 79 cents (which my son LOVES and devours like candy) and avocados for 49 cents each, which are great deals unless you have your own trees of course, which I don't.
I went double coupon grocery shopping yesterday since today (and the day before yesterday) were//are going to be super busy days for us with the homeschool group and I hate getting groceries on Saturday.
The sales were pretty blah at both stores (Bi-Lo and Lowe's) but I did manage to use coupons at both. I'm the type of shopper who tends to shop for sales, not things that we run out of (since I stockpile) so if there isn't a good deal on something that we normally use, I don't buy it (unless it's a major emergency, which hardly ever happens).
I'll check out Sam's Club this weekend to see if they have any good deals since I just got a membership again after not having one for several months. I've only gone once and that was on Black Friday when I bought my membership. I wasn't shopping for groceries then since I didn't want to buy any frozen or dairy products since I had other stores to go to that day, but have noticed that it is a good day to buy marked down meat since most people are looking for non-grocery deals.
I've been using a lot of items (meat in particular) from my freezer as I need to get it whittled down due to it's small size, but I did grab some 79 cents a pound chicken leg quarters at Bi-Lo yesterday as we have zero turkey left from Thanksgiving and none in the freezer.
I plan to make chicken pot pie with it for the family and break in my new deep dish pie dishes I bought at Aldi's. I always check the marked down meat areas at all the grocery stores I go to (including Aldi's) since they do mark them down with store stickers.
It's getting harder and harder to find good meat deals but I'm not panicking because we have plenty of cooked meat in the freezer (homemade pork bbq, etc.) in a pinch.
That's one thing I've learned about grocery shopping, there are lean times where you don't find many deals and then there are times of abundance when you wish you had 4 freezers so you could fill them up with all the great deals you find.
