Skipped my workout

W1D4: Off (unplanned)

Ugh, that's ugly up there.

But hey, I said I would blog every day, and I am. I had an appointment after work and it threw my game off.

And... emoticon I ate some banana pudding for dessert. It wasn't low fat in the slightest. It came from Kroger deli and had about an inch of cool whip.

But you guys... I'm PMS'ing so hard. Don't I get a pass?

Tomorrow was supposed to be an off day, but now I have to drag myself to the gym on a Friday evening. Well, these are the consequences. Since I have a long run slated for Saturday morning, I'm just going to nix the running workout I skipped tonight. But that's ok.. I've read you're less prone to injury if you increase your distance by no more than 10% per week, and I was getting close to the danger zone.


TIRED.. but not so sore.

    I believe PMS gets you wiggle room but not a free pass.
That said my horemones have had me on a carb/sweets kick all week.

    Sometimes we have dessert. It's okay. Dessert happens. The good thing is to excuse yourself for one evening, and have dessert, for PMS. The bad thing would be to have a whole week of "but I'm PMSing!" at every meal or snack!! You're doing okay.

I let myself skip a workout every once in a while, I just do what you're planning to do - make it up another day. You can do it!!

    Accountability rocks!!! Even if it's a not-so-great day... so keep it up!!!

PMS always hits me hard too. I think I'll be dealing with this in the coming week or so. It's an awful experience for me!!

    PMSing hardcore here, too. I crave chocolate and PB. To ensure that I get my "fix," I work it into my meal and make sure it's measured.

My favorite is:
Kim's Magic Pop (sold at some, not all, Kroger) (rice cake: 15 calories, about 5-6"!), 1/2 T of PB, and 1/2-1T mini-chocolate chips with a banana cut on top.

Planning my weaknesses into my meal has helped me control my eating during PMS. I slip up, but... it helps! "I want PB." "No. "YES." "NO. You're having PB as a treat." "... Fine. Maybe just a little?" "NO." "How about--" "AFTER DINNER."

Way to switch your days around instead of just skipping Friday altogether. It's so tempting to say, "Well, I planned for it to be an off day..."
