Normal doctors appointment turns rough!!

Thursday, November 29, 2012

Well today was a normal doctors appointment and it turned rather rough. My numbers were horrible. My Ac1 is @ 9. I must start insulin. Tomorrow I go to a diabetes educator and learn how to do the shots. I have to say that this came as a surprise I have been holding my own for so many years and even earlier this year my Ac1 went down. Now it is through the roof!

I have horrible kidney numbers, a enzyme that is liver related that is out of wack. I even have low blood pressure. I have taken blood pressure meds for years but for now I don't need to take them.

I know that I have done this to myself and no one is to blame but me but I am a little afraid on how I now deal with all this.

I see you are on the Eat to Live team. Have you been following Dr. Fuhrman's 6 week plan? I know people have cured their diabetes. And you're in the right place with the Eat to Defeat Team!! It's as simple as starting to choose foods off the Eat to Defeat food list. I know, it sounds like a gimmick, but they aren't making any money off of this. Not selling a book, or videos, etc.

sorry to hear your health troubles. I would recommend reading eat to live (i saw you signed up for the team), one of McDougall books and there are other type books too (I can't remember them all)

But basically if you eat fruits and veggies, no animal products and no junk/processed foods you can change your health for the better.

Ann, it is a FIGHT, but one that YOU CAN WIN! I like to say, taking "SMALL STEPS, ONE AT A TIME, and BIG CHANGES WILL BE MADE!" I know this, because I have worked on it! I still have lots to go...and I am the first to admit it, but I have lost nearly 80 pounds, since April 2011!!! SLOW, but CONSISTANTLY, working on it, and it finally started to work! So I am counting on you! You can do it! You have lots of support on our boards, threads, and friends at SP!

Good luck, hang in there, and see ya soon!

Hugs,
Fran

You deal with it by moving forward and working on getting those A1C numbers down. You can do this, don't give up, fight to get better. I have diabetes and I know those numbers can and will improve if you work at it. Insulin is not the end of the road, cut back on Carbs and sweets and win this battle!

That was a rough appointment. I don't know much about diabetes, but I am glad they are sending you to a diabetes educator to get the basics.
