Sci-Fi themed Christmas tree

Thursday, November 29, 2012

This year I finally have enough room to set up a second Christmas tree to display my collection of sci-fi themed ornaments that normal never make it out of their boxes.
Here is a photo of my 'regular tree' with more traditional ornaments:

(I hope the images are upright but can't tell until I actually send this file as they appear upright on my picassa3 but look sideways when I use sparks picture uploader). Well I uploaded it and most of the images need to be rotated ... sorry about that)
This is my sci-fi tree that still looks traditional until you get up close and see the ornaments:

I took more images but these are probably enough to give you a good idea of what it looks like. I set it up in my artsy fartsy studio that was built this summer.
Here are some additional photos of some of my paintings that I either consider finished or close enough to finished for now.

I was going to paint a large mural on this wall but decided to use it to show some of my paintings rather than have them stacked up on top of each other.

As you may notice, I'm drawn to painting animals mostly but occasional will do a still life. I rarely paint flowers but the few I painted tend to sell quickly so I rarely have any on hand for long.

At the other end of the artsy fartsy room is my gym where I keep my dumbbells, bench, yoga mats, and other things like a BOSU and my swiss ball (deflated) and resistance bands. I aso have a recumbent bike that I didn't picture.

Well that's it for now. Hope every one is having a terrific week!

Cool Terry, You have some seriously fabulous artistic talent! Nice dumbbell rack. I have been eyeball to eyeball with a bison. A bison is 3/4 ton of bad attitude.

Is that Marvin the Martian I see on your Sci-Fi tree? Cool beans!

Geez, man...I got a crick in my neck from looking sideways..haaaaaaa. I did enjoy seeing your trees and artsy fartsy work. Love that beautiful angel on your "traditional" tree and ABSOLUTELY LOVE your sci-fi-tree. I guess it's the "trekky" in me...haha. Live Long and Prosper, my friend. Proud of you and your success. Keep up the good work! (what's that little martian's name?? Marvin?...can't remember..but as soon as I saw him, I knew he was "vintage" ME! ;)

So cool! I love your paintings by the way. You just gave me the best idea of displaying artwork on a blank wall! I hope you don't mind if I use your idea :)
