Ahhhhhhh...mini vacation...how I love you! *LOL* Yes, it is the first day of my stayca and I am enjoying it immensely already. I slept so well last night and even slept in to 5:45. Wow... I would never have thought I would consider 5;45 as sleeping in! I have come a long way!
My fur baby is thrilled that I am home. She seems rather puzzled that I am still in my jammies, when I am ready and usually out the door for work by this time. She is purring at y side as I stroke her fur, her front paws curling in and out with contentment. I do love her!
For my meditation this morning, I visualized my kitchen sparkling clean. (Living by myself, I tend to let things go...and let's face it...I can be extremely lazy at times!) SO my project today is to clean and organize my kitchen. Wipe down the shelves, clean out the fridge and mop the floor.
Thanks to the FlyLady, I will work in 15 minute increments and switch every 15 minutes to something different so I don't get overwhelmed. This way by the time I am done, everything will clean and fresh.
So goals for today:
1. Eat within my calorie range. (I have a really hard time meeting the lowest end of my range. I really need to figure out how to do that)
2. Dance and/or walk for at least 15 minutes
3. Clean my kitchen so it sparkles and shines: cupboards, fridge, drawers and floor
4. Take short breaks so I don't get burned out
I read a Daily Spark Blog this morning on how to stay on track through the holidays by Tana Jolliffe "Enjoy the holidays and still lose weight." I had a stupendous "Aha" moment when I read one specific comment that made me stop and think:
''I try to remember that Thanksgiving is a single day in November, and Christmas is a single day in December. The holidays do NOT include all the days in between--unless I let them!''
Growing up, the holidays were all encompassing, from Thanksgiving and the arrival of Santa at the end of the Macy's Parade, until Christmas day..and sometimes even till New Years. I have always lumped the whole month into "The Holidays."
What a great shift in thinking! By not indulging (or over indulging) through out the whole month, I can indulge a wee bit on each "Holiday," and not feel the least bit of guilt. I am going to post that quote in my cubicle at work and on my bathroom mirror to remind myself every day. I feel so empowered! Silly as it may seem...this made my day!
So, now I need to finish up here on SP, have some breakfast and jump into my day. Open up the windows and let the fresh air in...love on my cat and have splendiferous day!
P.S. YOU CAN DO IT! I am so proud of you!
