Christmas season temptations

Thursday, November 29, 2012

Just a few lines to say I made it through Thanksgiving. My doctor was pleased with the weight loss but upset with the BP numbers. Oh, well. Then at work it started. People dropping goodies off at my desk and asking me to taste this or that and give my opinion about the flavor, texture or moisture content. It is going to be a hard time. Groan.

It seems like you have to be careful this season. It must be alot of temptation with all the goodies around. I would do what that one lady said and put them on someone else's desk. And if you do have a few bites don't worry, it won't derail your success. every one needs a little bite of something at Christmas.

You might try asking for their help in achieving your goal. If you make them part of your journey, perhaps it will at least ease up. Praying for you.

Prepare yourself mentally before going to work, that the food pushers will push their food. Write a coded note on your desk that only you understand what it means, when the pusher's come, say NO thank you.

food pusher push the cakes/goodies for me to eat = they are not helping me to stay healthy by them pushing food. emoticon

keep these codes handy and visable so that it helps you to say no and stay strong.

The holidays are the hardest times because you are supposed to consume mass quantities because they are "homemade" or "seasonal". I just moved whatever was offered to be to a groups table in an effort to share.
Give yourself a break .You are smart and will figure out your own strategies to handle the season. emoticon

You can do this, don't give up! Maybe a note on your desk asking that all goodies be placed in the break room would help, is that possible? The further temptation is away the better! emoticon
