Yesterday I posted about how my husband is more motivated to go to the Y with my lately. Well, he told me yesterday that since Thanksgiving, he's already lost 5 pounds! Wow! I asked him what his goal weight was, and he said 200, which would put him into the healthy BMI category. He started at 240, and now is 235, so only 35 pounds to go!
He's kind of a yo-yo dieter. He gets motivated to lose a little weight and exercise, and then for whatever reason (busy with school, work, etc) he loses motivation and puts the weight back on. So when he told me 200 was his goal, I asked if he wanted to stay there, and he said yes. So I told him I will help him any way I can. I think the best things I can do are to keep inviting him to the Y and not let him make excuses, and to help him (and myself) work on portion control. We are both really bad about eating a BIIIIG pile of the main course and then not eating any fruits or veggies with dinner.
Anyway, all of that to say I'm proud of the start he's made, and I'll try to help him find his motivation on a daily basis!
