A scarey thought-

Thursday, November 29, 2012

Son#2, the Pilot with Air Canada , was out to SanFrancisco--
He sent a couple pictures of a running route out there----

It looks so inviting---
Pilots jog too, on layovers. They HAVE to keep in shape--
They also have to have a medical every 6 mos where their blood pressure and weight are checked and have to stay within the normal limits.
What if we all had to go through this?
What if our weight was too high and we couldn't go on with our day ?--Lordy Lordy!!

It just might make us SPARK seriously here!
Maybe we should pretend that our medical is to-morrow-----
Would we pass it?????

Since physicals kind of freak me out, pretending it is tomorrow is kind of counter productive. BUT... whatever works for you, USE it!

Self regulating is much more difficult to get to.
Once you are told to do it and with consequences like losing your job, you will try harder.

HOWEVER for many of us we know we are causing our body to develop, heart disease, diabetes and Joint pain but somehow that is not always enough. It seems someone else has to enforce the rules for us so that we can motivate ourselves to better health. However WE are the ones in charge and we are not strong enough to do that for ourselves on many days.

I guess we are controlled to keep the job and finances instead of our health.
Thanks for making me realise that. Pat in Maine.

After years of annual medicals and fitness requirments, I have to say I can still meet the minimum standard. But is that enough for me? I don't think so! Good motivation and beautiful pictures. Thank you for sharing!

DEFINITELY beautiful pictures. Hmmmm... it would be a motivator to have such frequent check ups and your J-O-B depended on it. For sure!

    Hope Tess is doing well!

Definitely a different way to think about it! I would not pass this time, or the next, as I am not within normal weight right now. That being said, if I had my physical tomorrow I think my doctor would be pleased with my progress.
