PRAISE THE LORD...

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Today a friend of mine came over to sit with Mom so that I could take my Angel-Neighbor-Donna to lunch (she is the one that helps me with Mom so much)...it was so nice to get out & have a real conversation with someone. Naturally we talked about my Mom & the wait to get a bed in several nursing homes. We had some extra time so I suggested that we take a drive & I would show her the new nursing home that had not opened yet. As we entered the lobby of the new place, the Admissions Dir. & the Dir. of Nursing were there at the entrance desk. The Dir. of Admissions looked at me...called me by name & said...Janey, we're ready for your Mother!!! I couldn't even move or talk...I just burst out in tears & had a mini meltdown...I have been waiting for "The Call" & instead I received the news in person...as soon as I finish up the paperwork & get my Mom's physical & her flu & pneumonia shots, we will be even closer to placing her. I've got an appt. tomorrow to pick out a "room with a view." I am just so relieved...I'm trying not to get too excited. I'll believe it when I see it...I will be able to get my life back, spend more time w/my husband & daughter. I'll get back to walking, meeting with friends...it will be wonderful...I'm afraid to blink...I need someone to pinch me...can you HEAR my smile??? Take care...

Just a few short years ago, I was where you are now. God is good. He took care of my husband's parents and He is taking care of you.

I would say that God smiled on you today, and by extension, your Mom. Hope the new place is all you hope it to be, and even more, a place where your Mom can feel safe, comfortable, and happy. I'm sure many prayers went in to this great day. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
