I might have spoken too soon. We have more blood work and chest X-rays.

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Very trying day, I thought DH was doing much better this morning but going to the Drs she checked him out herself and he has lesions in his ear and also in his throat. He has been very hoarse for a week now but we could not get to see our Dr in that time.

He has had blood drawn and X-rays done He has been eating, he still says everything is tasting either bad or no taste at all.

He is sleeping and I have done very little here. I quit Spark Coach I had planned to do that.
I have lost almost all of my streaks except my log in. I will redo my goals one of which is being in contact with Spark friends.

This is my community and people I truly like in my life.

I am struggling with DH ill and no-one seems to be able to give us a reason for the fevers and chills. I hope for answers tomorrow, and back to eye Dr Friday. With new lesions in his throat and ears it is very close to his good eye, I am so hoping it will not get to that eye. His other eye where there is no shingles has Dry Macular Degeneration and that is our unspoken big worry.

Today the Dr said she would call tomorrow but I really do not like to say this, I am not going to hold my breath. She has to be at the hospital so I must be patient but gosh golly that is so hard for me to do.

There were suggestions for us to go to a Clinic but that is not an option at this time for DH and I. I will give it a bit more time, I keep thinking he looks or talks better but I will be better when she calls with either answers or more tests.
Got to go now, I do need some rest and I have to get DH to bed.
Thanks for listening Pat in Maine. (((((HUGS)))) emoticon emoticon'S

My heart breaks for you Pat! So sorry Fred has shingles and it seems to be getting worse. Everyone deals with shingles differently and when I had it -it was worse afterwards for me with my nerves. Have you had a shingles vaccine yet-maybe you should if you haven't-it is recommended for those over 60. I sure hope things start to improve for Fred soon! Take care and try not to worry, that will only make you ill. emoticon

Hmm, got to tell you Pat, I had chickenpox at age four. I had the pox(lesions)EVERYWHERE, I MEAN EVERYWHERE! Inside my mouth. ears, vagina, my eyes, under all of my nails, inside my nose, between my teeth. EVERYWHERE.
The doctor said he had never seen anything like it in his life(he was 69 years old, retiring). I still remember the pain, not eating, everything tasting like metal, sulfhur), I could not swallow anything even semi-solid. Liquids were like lava going down.
This is a very serious thing to happen to any adult, do not lay low, make SOMETHING happen from somebody for him. A virus attacks everything, immune systems can only take so much, they need help, I never got IV's BUT they did not know that much or do much for the virus back then, remember, they had just invented the polio(Salk) vaccine.

You are doing all of the right things. I am praying for you both.

Dear Pat, I am so hoping you start getting some answers! It is so difficult not knowing exactly what all you're dealing with! You both need to get some rest--you are wearing yourself out with the worry and the care. The Spark streaks really mean nothing in the overall scheme of your life. You're right, you can start over. You have been so strong for DH! Take care! I continue to pray for you both!

You are doing a Fantastic Job. Find out the Results from the Doctor tomorrow and from the Eye Doctor and take it from there. I Pray to God that These Shingles will not affect his Eyes, Hearing, Mouth or Body in any way. I'm sure everyone feels this way. Keep DH as comfortable as You can. And get your rest and sleep too. You can always start your Streaks again. We will always be here for you Pat. You are in our Thoughts and Prayers. God Bless You and Be With You and DH. Try to have a Nice Day. Take Care. Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Pat, I know it seems to go on forever. There are so many tests to do.... and then require more. The wait is frustrating ..........there are so many new situations where the testing might take a while.

I will wait for news from the eye Dr. Praying that his findings are all good.

Wishing you guys a good nights sleep.....being a restful one too. This making the stress level go down a bit.

Rest during the day too, when you can. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hi Pat, I sure hope that you and DH get some good news soon and that he feels better.

You do need to take care of yourself. Don't worry about your streaks. I messed mine all up and I'm not going through anything. I also just canceled my spark coach. My last day is 12-7-12 according to the e-mail I got back.

    Take care Pat.

OH my . . . streaks are at the very bottom of the priority totem pole right now. For sure! I know it's frustrating though.

Was that anitibiotic stopped?? That could be a culprit in the fever. But with the shingles, too, it wouldn't be unusual to have fever because the body is fighting an infection.

Oh dear heavens, I hope the shingles hasn't affected his eyes.

Just know you're in my thoughts and prayers, my dear. Take care of yourself and your dear Fred.

don't worry about your streaks or goals at this time. Your husbands health is your amin concern. You are doing a wonderful job in taking care of him.
Did you ever stop that drug he was on that had the similar complaints from other people?

Keep us informed and stay clm.
