Water problems in the village

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

The village I live in is having water issues, so they have issued a boil water order and requested that people conserve water. Hopefully the problem will be resolved by Friday, but in the meantime I am drinking a lot of tepid water, as I am impatient and don't wait for it to cool off after boiling it. That means water for drinking, brushing teeth, washing dishes, etc. must be boiled before being used. They also requested thtat residents not shower or wash clothes to conserve the water supply. What a hassle, but thank goodness it is something that can be fixed in a couple of days.

Cooper and I walked over 8 miles again today. This morning's walk featured blowing snow and windy conditions, but the wind had died down and the snow had stopped by the time we went out this evening. I should do some ST this evening. I have been using my new 10# weights, instead of my old 5# weights, and I can really feel the difference in the effort required.

Tomorrow promises to be a busy day for me with company coming in the morning, and an appointment in the afternoon (plus all the regular day to day stuff I do).

Here's to plentiful water wherever you are.

When we had a well and the power went out we would have no water. Once it was 3 days. A very long three days.

Hopefully your water issue doesn't last long!

Good reminder to be grateful for something pretty important we take for granted. Hope they get the issue fixed quickly!

What a pain... it could be worse, though

We are so fortunate in this country to have water we can drink out of the tap! Having travelled pretty extensively in Asia I can tell you that in most countries this is highly discouraged. Hopefully it will be fixed in a day or so.

I hate when we have had water problems. Fortunately where I live now, it is VERY rare and usually only when electricity it out for a few days and the temperature is below freezing, because we have a well and the farms around us are mostly gentlemen farmed - meaning almost no actual farming done now - they are largely larger farms that have aging owners.

Hope you get your water back soon.
