100lbs Gone - Who Knew This Day Would Come True

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

March 2012 at 448lbs enough was enough! I had my consult with my surgeon and May 17, 2012 I was Sleeved! Fast forward 6 mths later and I have lost 100lbs. Now the real fun begins!

I have another 150lbs to lose to get to my goal of 250lbs. To some that may still be overweight but it's my goal. emoticon

At 6mths post-op I've noticed my bad habits are starting to sneak back in. The carbs are attacking me. I met with my nutritionist and she smacked me back in line.

When I sat down to write this blog my intentions were to cheer, jump and shout! (I'm still doing that of course!) However, I realize the seriousness of this second stage I'm entering. Don't get lazy keep it going! I no longer have the physical reminders that I had a Sleeve. My incisions are barely detectable, I don't get the slimies, I no longer vomit, I can eat whatever I want, I can drink whatever I want, I can eat more food. Now is the time to continue my protein drinks 80g a day, take my vitamins, exercise, drink my water, measure my food, stay away from food triggers, limit carbs in my life. Now is the time I make a definite lifestyle change forever.

Normalcy is the fuel that has always inspired me. My Sleeve is a tool! If abused it isn't useful at all.

I'M MARCHING FORWARD TO ANOTHER 6MTHS. MAYBE ANOTHER 100LBS! WOW! WOW!
6 MTHS AGO I WAS IN PAIN (READ MY OLD BLOGS). I WORE A SMILE ON MY FACE BUT SADLY WAS DYING INSIDE.

My journey is not over! It's just beginning!

You can do it! It's all mental, you don't need a sleeve to remind you that you are doing this for yourself, you are worth going through this journey! BTW congrats on loosing 100 lbs, you are doing so great! You can accomplish more, you just need to tell yourself you want it so bad! We are with you on this one, cheers!

Congratulations. My mom underwent the gastoric bypass once int he 80's and had it redone several years ago to repair areas that broke down. I'm liking the sounds of this procedure much better and I'm glad it has lead you to success.

Good luck on your continued journey and welcome to SP.

Wonderful progress. And it definitely is hard to stay on the straight & narrow sometimes as we experience success with our goals. THAT'S when we definitely need someone (like your nutritionist) to help you re-align your thoughts. You can do this and proud of all your progress!!
