The Food Network is going to kill me!

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

So I was thinking about my triggers this morning, what causes me to eat. Boredom is definitely one. I am on maternity leave right now and at times, I get hungry for no other reason than I'm a little bored. I read someone say that I should drink water when that happens, to make sure that it's real hunger. I'll give that one a try.

My other trigger in the Food Network lol! I started watching shows on that channel while on mat leave (just letting it run in the background), and it makes me HUNGRY! I think that most of my post-baby weight gain is linked to the Food Network lol. I better keep that water bottle handy if I want to keep watching that channel. On the bright side, I think it has made me a better cook. I hated cooking before, and now, with some of the recipes and tricks learned on the Food Network, I actually am starting to enjoy it. So that's a good thing. I just need to make sure that watching a show doesn't make me run to the pantry ;)

Love Chopped and Iron Chef! But I know what you mean--and for my DH, it's America's Test Kitchen on PBS....he's always trying out new recipes from that show!

I love the food network. They do have those great shows now, like elle Krueger and Paula Deans son who are cooking healthier than some of the other shows

Keep the water close, make sure you are not hungry as you watch and congrats on the new baby

I hear you! FN is a great channel and I've learned a lot and gotten some great recipes but it isn't good for the waistline! Take heart - get the tips but healthify the recipes and you can eat their good food but in a healthy way.
