I am trying

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

I have been struggling with my weight and I am tired. Until I read an article from Woman's World about women over 35 who can't lose weight. I read the article and it features Susanne Somer's "Sexy Forever" diet. It looked easy. This last weekend I hit 200 lbs. I was very frustrated. So I decided to try it. I started Sunday. By Monday I was 198. I was happy because I could not put on my work pants, but now I can. Then I started walking on Monday with my sister n law. Tuesday I was 195. I was really excited. This morning. Wow! 193. Yes it is great. However, If this diet can help me pass my eighties then I know it really works. For the last 3 years I could not get passed the my eighties. I will keep you posted on how this diet is working.

Don't focus on "DIET". Learn rather to eat healthily - portion control, being careful how much you eat of different foods. You can still have "treats" but in moderation. Count the calories - and what KIND of calories. Spark's Nutrition tracker is such a great resource! The exercise is REALLY important.

I am approaching 60 years old. In 2006 my weight had gone up to 262 - AAARGH! Through Spark, I was able to get down to 180 - but injuries that inhibited my exercise contributed to its going up again. Not all the way, thank God. But I've been tracking again, and it's going back down. I am not "dieting." I am a careful shopper, and I focus on healthier foods. But I have cookies occasionally, or candy - TRACKING those calories. ANd I'm able to do some kind of exercise daily. Slow and steady. Shel
