Small Steps

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Well we have made it 2 days thus far. Today is an off day from the gym so I have to try really hard to keep the eating in check. I had several comments on my previous blog stating that the gym isnt the only form of exercise I should look into. I appreciate the great comments and I do know that this is true.

I have many at home video options as well as a set of weights at my disposal that I use in addition to our gym. The gym is essential to our family though. After 2+ years my husband has found it is the only way he is successful. We go to our local ymca which benefits our children as well. My daughter loves it and my son so desperately needs the interaction with other people. With my mom in arizona it is the ONLY time I am free from both kids. Its my me time. I have found over the years that working out at home exclusively allows for too many distractions and excuses.

I have found that my attitude is a bit different this time around. I usually look at my "skinny" pictures with such longing and envy. But yesterday I looked through them and thought to myself " look how far I have come". I looked at them with excitement. In a way gaining a bit of weight was a blessing. I truly feel that I will appreciate it so much more the second time around. I still thought I was so fat at the time. A touch of body dis morphia after a lifetime of obesity.

Weight today was 196lbs, down 3lbs. I would like to be 185lbs by jan.1st. I Haven't been below 189lbs since before my son was born. My goal for this month is to simply keep going.

These are the pictures that inspire me to keep going.

My summer goal.

My ultimate inspiration to remind of how far I have come.

I like the gym, too. I use too many excuses to keep from going, even though I love it. I find my exercise intensity is far greater at the gym. I know when I exercise at home, I'm kind of shirking. I may put in the time, but the intensity is not there. You're doing great!
