What a difference a day makes...

My tummy trouble (constipation, cramping, bloating, gas) is almost gone! I'll spare you any further details. If anybody needs details for therapeutic reasons , please e-mail me.

This is what I was led to try, all of which seemed to be soothing:
Oatmeal (added butter and brown sugar) YUM!
Peppermint Tea (Celestial)
Tension Tamer Tea (Celestial) -- very effective
Soft prunes
Cocoa (used SF, FF powdered) Essentially this was flavored water but tasted good warm
1 dose of Fiber-Con, continued with multi-vitamin and prescribed medication
Chewed peppermint gum
Sucked on real peppermint candy -- very effective
For some reason, craved real butter! Ate butter on things, in things, and straight!
Not sure about the butter, but it was a definite craving. Maybe someone has a thought on this? Would be interested!

Avoided anything with added fiber or bran (felt it would be too rough)
Avoided anything too hot or too cold (felt it would be too shocking)
Slightly warm was excellent
Avoided any vegs and fruit raw (too rough and hard). Had applesauce and cooked vegs
Avoided anything that was hard or tough or had sharp edges (meat, nuts, snack food). Supper was tuna and noodle casserole.

Did stretching
Avoided dealing with problems
Relaxed in evening

These food choices were remedial and perhaps temporary to get my system back in order.
I don't know how much of this will be a permanent change. Definitely don't want to get back to that point again!
I will continue to use intuitive eating and living from here on and share with you anything significant.

    In England, peppermint is often recommended for digestive problems, ginger is also very good. Glad everything else seems to be working. I'm also a butter fan. I hate all these man made spreads.

    Glad intuitive eating led you to finding "comfort" foods in the truest sense of the word. Hope you continue to feel better!

    Amazing! That is awesome! I ONLY eat real butter, love the stuff! I don't think our bodies were designed to consume the fake garbage they sell in the store. Uh-uh not me, just pure butter for this girl!! Can't go wrong with oatmeal, that's for sure!! The peppermint surprises me, my hubs can't touch the stuff without it completely derailing him. If you're looking, chamomile tea is real good for the tummy troubles. Hubs will drink it from time to time.

It really is amazing that if we just listen to our bodies, they'll tell us what they need. I fully believe inthe body's ability to heal itself and I think that food is probably the best remedy for it!! so glad its working for you!!!
