Wednesday Pep Talk

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Here we are at the middle of the work week.

Tuesday's victory? There was a food day at work. I observed something that I think bespeaks the success of the work place wellness initiatives: about HALF the treat table was covered with healthy options. Fruits and veggies, plain cheese in single portion sizes, etc. The other half was as usual completely decadent (including pumpkin cheesecake, a particular temptation since I missed Thanksgiving dinner, being on the road!)

And I managed to avoid it all, as I had pre-packed my permitted options, and I stuck to my plan. So, that's Tuesday's victory. I also did my stress-busting break walks.

Wednesday's plan is the same: remember to breathe between the meetings. Find time to take those break walks and if I don't get enough of them in, make sure I get an after work workout.

* The job will not be benefitted by sacrificing your health. Balance is essential to life!

And life continues to be good. Spark on! emoticon

Good choices! We are going to have a potluck soon for the holidays at work. My plan is just to nibble on things in moderation.

Huge!! Both that you've had such an impact on the healthy choice arrays at work, AND that you stuck to your own plan for nutrition and fitness!!

(Unless the pumpkin cheesecake had had ginger cookie crumb crust . . . and candied ginger . . . and maybe pecan praline topping . . . I THINK I could have resisted it too . . . but glad I wasn't put to the test!)

That's impressive! Passing up the treats in favor of your plan shows how far you have come and how you have made real, lasting changes.

You rock.
