Meeting my first bike around the world milestone

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Ah, Iíve finally done it! Iíve biked my first 100 miles! I know, itís a drop in the bucket in comparison with my ultimate goal of biking around the entire world, but one has to start somewhere!

I figure Iíll pick up speed as I go along, getting fitter and fitter by the minute.

Now that Iím picking larger destination goals, it gives me a little something extra to look forward to as I putter along this giant distance.

Itís fun meeting milestones, big and small; it doesnít matter the size. It definitely has me pumped!

Another happy moment for me happened today as I opened my door and low and behold there was a package. I got my SparkPeople Cookbook! Iím so excited. Iím going to have fun perusing that for a while for sure.

    Bravelute,

I use a recumbent bike as well. My regular bike can't handle my weight and my butt can't handle a normal bike seat yet. I just keep a record of the miles I do and figure out what distance I've gone with a starting point of New York City because that's the easiest place I can think of to Google and get distances from there to anywhere.

I will pull out a regular bike once my weight is down where my bike can handle it and I can handle the bike seat. I'll just still keep tracking the miles as usual, but I'll have to use a map to track my distance or something.

My next goal is 508.7 miles the distance between NYC and Raleigh, NC.

I love biking myself. I just don't get into the stationary bike. You have a great goal. Keep up the good work.

emoticon Where do you bike? What is your next Goal? You're inspiring me to get mine out and blow up the tires. I need to cross train today since I walked so far yesterday. Swimming or biking. Don't know if it will warm up enough to swim. So maybe a bike ride this a.m. and a swim in the afternoon if it warms up enough.

emoticon (not my type of bike. Mine's a recumbent)
    Have a great day.
