Had another appointment with the dentist for an in depth evaluation.
The news isn't good. I need $6,000.00 worth of dental work.
I plan to get a second opinion before I completely freak out.
Please remind me to just trust the process and pray.

Wow! That is horrible. We had $16,000 one year of out of pocket medical bills.

Wow. I've had some huge dental bills but not like that. Although if it includes a couple of implants that would do it. I did spend about $3000 on one of those several years ago. My dds has a dental plan you can buy into if you don't have insurance along with the good old credit card with a year of no interest. Hope it all works out for you.

IF you do not have insurance, be sure to ask if there is any discount for that and or if there is a payment plan, and definitely get a second or third opinion! If you do have insurance, the dentist's office should work with you to inform you of what is and is not covered and how much you would be responsible for.
Oh, and if you have health insurance and not dental, check with the dentist's office to find out if anything can be covered by your health insurance. I have had my health insurance cover glasses in the past because I have a scar on my cornea and the office filed it as a health claim because it was a 'medical necessity' and left me with only having to pay my normal co-pay instead of a percentage...sometimes a loophole works FOR you!

Yes, definitely get a second opinion. And a third; each has his / her own pricing. Reviews about the dentist online can be helpful. Some charge a lot and do a lousy job. Also, ask friends, neighbors, family, church if they know of a good dentist.

And please remember to just trust the process and pray. emoticon Everything will work out for you.
