Forcing Myself Back On Track

It's not easy! To anyone who is thinking of taking a break and taking their foot off the gas for a while, my advice is have a SHORT break and a re-start date in mind BEFORE you slack off, and a good friend who will kick your ass back in gear leading up to that date! I had the friend, but not the date LOL! Plan for this, people!

I last tracked my food on Oct. 24th, so my little break was about 5 weeks off tracking. I exercised, even during 15 days of having no power after Superstorm Sandy, but I ate a bit more than I should have, and ate foods not as healthy as I normally do, which saw me regain about 4 pounds. (I thought it was 10, but I'd regained some before taking a break, so I realized it's not as bad as I thought and reported to my GONE friends, so WOO for one small thing!). I have been tracking every bite of food and every ounce of drink since May, 17, 2011. I had also plateau'ed for a long time, and frankly, I got fed the **** up of tracking, of seeing the same faces in my SP mails of "featured blogs", always of only the so-called "popular" people who collect "friends" whose forenames they don't even know like hoarders collect crapola. I no longer care enough about spark points to receive these mails and now will not have to see the same old attention seekers.

I haven't figured out how to lose steadily yet. I have some physical challenges I need to work around and I know I have to get back to the college pool at which I bought a membership last Feb. to get my favorite and best calorie-burning workouts done, and I miss swimming and water aerobics and all my geriatric "girls" at the pool LOL! I actually ran into Sister Jane at my orthopedist's office yesterday taking my son and his rugby-injured thumb there while Jane brought her friend, Sister Rita for treatment. How wonderful it was to see her smile!!! emoticon We hugged and kiss and hugged some more, and she caught me up on a few of the regular members. She also told me people keep asking each other if they've heard from me and if I'm coming back, which really touched me deeply! Whodathunkit? Jane is off to FL to visit her brother for a couple of weeks so I won't see her when I head back (hopefully next week if my boo boos cooperate) but she'll rejoin after the first of the year. She also said the group is having a luncheon Dec. 6th for Bonnie, our water aerobics instructor, where everyone kicks in $20 for lunch and $20 toward a gift for Bonnie. They go to an Applebee's near the college. I'm going to look up the lady organizing this luncheon and tell her to count me in. emoticon

My sons were home from Tuesday through yesterday for their Thanksgiving break! It was sooooooo good to see them! My younger son gained quite a bit of weight he plans to lose over the winter break and my older son lost about 20 pounds living off-campus and cooking for himself. Hopefully they will both want to eat healthier cooking from me when home. They got home Tues. night and drove right past the bar where I was playing darts! I texted them around when they drove by and asked where they were but the younger one was asleep and didn't reply for a few minutes. Shame they couldn't have popped in for a hug and THEN gone home cos they could have met some of my teammates. I won all 4 of my matches that night and made the high points roster again, which was really awesome! emoticon

I'm not going to post daily, but I'm aiming to track my food daily. Spending more time offline has been good for me. I even went to a mini high school reunion Fri. night and had an absolute BLAST! A very hot "almost 27" year old bartender even asked for my number but nothing's happening there apart from my ego feeling good, as he has, shall we say, unusual predilections. It was great to meet up again with old friends though, and I'll be doing more of that in the future! emoticon

    No, you're not, Karen. You know their names and interact with them. And if people mail you, you reply. I KNOW how much time you have spent replying to people after being profiled for losing over 100 pounds. You take the time because you're a caring person. Others... not so much.

I hate friend collectors too! I do add a lot of people though. I might be a tiny bit guilty.

    HEY Ms Jacqueline! I sure feel ya on the people and the popular blogs and not knowing people but collecting friends! Which is why I got fed up with SP a couple of months ago.

I AM SO glad it was ONLY 4lbs instead of 10lbs gain! YAY for you!

College does do that to the kids adn hopefully your younger will get it off over winter and really think about what he is eating when he goes back for the next few weeks.

You do whatever you need to do to make it happen for you whether you get on SP alot or a little it's all about what works for you. Best wishes!
