NYC during Christmas count-down! Yippee!

Tuesday, November 27, 2012

emoticon This is a 2 blogger day. Too much to tell you my darling spark~sters...just too much!

It's beginning to look a LOT like Christmas... emoticon emoticon ERP...never... here in sunny SW FL. But I get in the spirit anyhow.

I LOVE Christmas...it's always been my most favorite holiday of the year. The hubs and I don't even make a big deal of it anymore since we've lost our darling Josh...but I have fantastic memories of 21 Christmas' spent together and they bolster me up during the times of sadness...then I do my BEST to immediately snap myself out of my funk and start counting my numerous blessings.

We ALL have so many if we really take the time to recognize them. If you have a friend you have a huge blessing and being here on Spark...we are LOADED...simply LOADED with blessed friends! emoticon emoticon So if ever you might feel a little low during the holidays...just check out your friends page...that should put an immediate smile on your face...AND if I'm on that friends page feel free to pop by and tell me whats on your mind.

I'll do my best to help you take a different focus on things. I'm almost an expert on changing the lens in my telescope of life...different perspective...different feeling....different feeling...different actions...different actions...different outcome. See kinda like that.

Perfect example...this morning I was watching "Morning Joe" our new favorite a.m. show. I used to be a die hard "Today' show watcher until they got rid of the beautiful and talented and REAL soft heart Ann Curry. When there was some sort of snafu about moving her into Meredith Baxter's place...for some reason...someone started complaining. WHY...I'll never know.....I thought she was totally adorable..but the powers to be...pushed her out. She even showed her stout heart and came in for about a week or two after refusing to give up her hard won anchor position. But in the long run they froze her out...and froze me out too..I've never gone back to the show. If I'm not LOYAL...I'm not anything!

Anyhow Morning Joe doesn't have quite the broad spectrum of human interest stories that the Today Show featured...but it is a good balanced view of politics and occasionally has some fluff stories thrown in for variety. I like it just fine...and I'm getting a lot more knowledgeable and curious about our own big beautiful country.

Like today...they had the 'arguably richest man in America' on...Mr. Warren Buffet. I love this guy...first of all he's a midwesterner from Omaha...just like me...so what's NOT to love? emoticon He still possesses that most RARE quality in today's world. Horse sense. I come from exactly that same cornfield...Horse Sense will NEVER let you down. When the world goes MAD...you know if you have someone like Warren Buffett in your midst you are going to be just fine. He'll be the one that knows how to BBQ a wild boar, and build a fire using flint rock...I'm telling ya!

Listening to Mika and Morning Joe interview a long time friend of Warren's...I think her name is Carol Loomis about a book she just wrote called "Tap Dancing to Work" made me smile...and made me hopeful for a good future for America. They discussed how Warren has been fascinated with stocks and the whole Stock Exchange since he was about 7 years old. At this point in time he has wealth amassed at about 69 Billion dollars...yep that's with a B!

I was thinking to myself that if a young whipper snapper from Omaha who knew NOTHING about NOTHING could make himself into the wealthiest man of all time...there's definitely hope for all of us.

We just need to realize what a HUGE universe engulfs us and allows us opportunities big and small each and every day. If we can move away from the 'fear basis' of survival )and let me tell you I've been hiding under THAT rock for the last 2-3 years and SHIFT to "hold on here Fanny...there are Warren Buffets in this world...and if HE could do it..anything is possible...ANYTHING! It gives us hope...pure unadulterated HOPE! That's PURE!

Sooooo that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

I've got to get off my keister and onto my treadmill...I'm short on steps so far today.

I got off work early and went to Clark's shoe store and tried on practically the WHOLE store looking for some SLICK and stylish boots for the big NYC trip. I found the PERFECT pair...cute, stylish and COMFY...the big triad! I intend to step out in STYLE my spark~sters...I have to represent.... just in case I run into any wonderful spark friends...I KNOW you're out there!

We may meet and greet while I'm there!

I couldn't agree with you more about everything you said! No wonder I'm your virtual daughter! emoticon You will be stylin' when you go to NY! Hopefully a few more pounds lighter as well. emoticon emoticon

I love Christmas but our Christmas' were always about our fur-kids. They absolutely LOVED Christmas. Now that we don't have any I'm finding it hard to get into the Christmas spirit. I'm thinking about not decorating at all this year. Definitely not going to put up a tree. We'll see...maybe as it gets closer to Christmas I'll end up doing something.

Love ya to the moon and back a hundred times! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I can so relate to the balance Mika and Joe provide, missing Ann Curry (and Meredith Vieira), and looking forward to the lights of NYC with a girlfriend! What a blessing that we have such incredible wealth (money, freedoms, and faith) in this country. You, my dear friend are both beautiful and rich! Thanks for sharing your join with us here.

What a great blog!!!! So up and postitive, it made my morning today Bobbie and brightened my day!!! Yes, anything is possible, it really is. History is riddled with success stories of people who had nothing and worked hard and were successful. Even Spark guy is one ot them!! Keep giving us your Horse sense, I know I need it!!
NYC at Christmas is spectacular. My twin brother lives across the street from Julliard and The Metropolitan Opera, where he works, and 2 blocks from Central Park. I love going there at Christmas. I'm excited for you Thanks for brightening up my day!!

I don't enjoy the holidays anymore. I tend to get depressed starting right before Thanksgiving and it seems to start lifting around mid-January. Sad, but true.

Nice to hear you meandering through thoughts in your blog. Bet you can't wait to go to NYC. Me on the other hand, I can't wait to get away from our already-cold weather (26 degrees) and go with my girl friend on a cruise. Hope I can get some lbs off like you're doing!

I don't enjoy Christmas like I did. If it wasn't for one of kids that has a special anouncement to make I would cancel our party. I still love the Christmas lights tho.
When do you leave for NYC
