Thanksgiving Aftermath & Life
Tuesday, November 27, 2012
I am absolutely done with my holiday shopping aside from ordering one last gift online (once it’s decided what I need to get) and a couple more stocking stuffers for Mark and Marcie! YAY!
Thanksgiving wasn’t a foodie disaster. I actually didn’t have much of an appetite. However, I did find myself snacking after my cut off time. I also wasn’t feeling well with my sinuses so I ditched some of my workouts. Monday when I got back to it I only gained 1.2 pounds. I can live with that as that could be due to me not weighing myself at the same time. Easy off!
I have to say getting back to working out consistently feels great! I realize I feel like absolute crap if I haven’t had a work out. It doesn’t matter what it is….just as long as I am moving! Today I did a yoga work out which all the stretching felt nice! I cannot believe how much my balance and posture has improved as well as my moods!
Poor Mark is going through heck right now! He went to our dentist for a cleaning and checkup only to find a disaster in his mouth! They didn’t even clean him…they gave him some green horse pills and sent him home. He has an infection in his gums and one tooth that has a crown (that was giving him problems since his other dentist did it) has a cavity under it! They also want to give him a deep cleaning where they plan on knocking him out. *shivers* sounds scary! He spent Thanksgiving in PA taking these horse pills and by the time he came home to me he had massive heartburn and stomach distress from them to the point he couldn’t eat or drink anything. He was miserable! Me being the expert on heartburn I cut out all the triggers and gave him a homeopathic remedy which helped A LOT. However, by Sunday night, despite the edge being taken off, he was still pretty bad so he stopped taking them. Which, honestly, I don’t blame him as it is one thing to be at home and miserable it’s another thing to go into work on Monday constantly having to go to the bathroom or being distracted from not feeling well. In his line of work distractions can cause injury or death. So, today I have a very bland (yet yummy…just no onions or garlic like we like!) high fiber dinner planned in hopes this will be the meal that will absolutely help to set his body back into balance. Fingers crossed he feels better when he gets up!
Marcie (for those of you just tuning in Marks twin sis) followed Mark home from PA so she is here! YAY! Having Marcie here is like having a ball of energy and sunshine! Right now she is in the craft room sewing a removable liner for my pretty raincoat so I can also wear it in the winter if I would like. Of course the lining we picked is a hello kitty print and we got it for 50% off with another 20% off coupon. Don’t judge. Hello kitty and almost free? HECK TO THE YEAH! She also took my measurements again since the last time on the phone. Head to toe I have lost about 8 inches total from my entire body. YAY! She is going to hold off on taking my swing dresses in until I am done because at this rate she will be sewing forever!
Sadly I had to purchase another pair of jeans. I am right in the height where if I buy petite I have high waters but if I buy normal length they are too long. I buy the normal length and just drag the ends around until they fray and I need a new pair. This time I had to order them online because the store didn’t have the boot cut style and color in my size. Yes, I am still my size as of right now because I am between sizes. I fit absolutely comfortably in my size with slight room but go down a size and it looks like a second skin complete with scary camel toe. (yeah you know what I’m talkin about ladies!) Oh, well Marcie plans on hemming them so I don’t rip the bottoms and she said she will take those in too if need be. At this rate I hope she stays for a bit because having a personal seamstress is AWESOME!
I also found a cute winter coat on sale still in my normal size because my girls. I didn’t exactly need a new winter coat. I just made mention my 5 year old coat needed an update so I was going to sew different buttons on it. When I was ordering my jeans online I came across the new coat normally $120 bucks for $28….I couldn’t pass it up! They had it in my size and in the color (raspberry pink!) I wanted! It was the same coat Marcie made me try on (she wanted to see what the cut looked like on me) in the store when I was looking for new jeans but it wasn’t on sale at the store! I snatched that puppy up and still got new buttons for my old coat. So, now I have a pink coat, black which fades into gray coat for those more serious occasions, and my now all season raincoat with the cute ruffles. I am soooo set!!! Plus Marcie is making me a new hat and scarf for the new coat! YAY! I am so good to go this winter. Lolz
Ok its off with me! I have to fill a couple more orders.
Hope everyone is well!
