Wasn't Pretty...But Wasn't Awful Either!

Tuesday, November 27, 2012

So I headed out for a light run this morning to test out my knee a little bit...and like the title says - it wasn't pretty, but it wasn't awful either! It has certainly left me hopeful that recovery is on the horizon especially if I continue to be careful and proactive! I do think I'm going to see the doctor no matter I'm going to call this afternoon to set up an appointment. I also looked into some of the different knee braces that are available and I think I will go ahead and get one ordered this Friday when I get paid. Just something to offer a little extra support.

So I can't say that I actually ran a whole lot, but I was able to run pain-free for several minutes at a time, stop and stretch it out, walk for a bit and then run again. Like I said - it leaves me more hopeful than I've felt in weeks! I also wonder if I don't need new shoes again already. I've had this pair for 6 months, but I did really up my mileage recently so I may be finding that they are breaking down a bit. Good thing it's almost Christmas! HA!

And I'm back to tracking today...and I'm happy about it. Such a strange place to be sometimes...I really hated tracking for quite awhile, but after I started tracking again and feeling like I was on the right track it feels good to see what I'm eating again and I actually missed it the past couple weeks while I was in tantrum mode.

I'll weigh in next week and assess the damage then...LOL

Other than all of that, I'm going to keep on track this week by doing at least a little walk in the morning and some strength training. Trying to run for little bits on Thursday (just like today) and then tracking my food and making healthy choices. It sure does feel good to be focused on my health even if the knee isn't perfect!!!!!

Hope everyone is having a fantastic day of healthy choices! Enjoy!
