Please check your dryers!

Tuesday, November 27, 2012

Hello Spark World,

I'm putting out a "public service announcement" today asking everyone to please check UNDER their lint traps in their dryers. I am diligent about cleaning my lint trap every single time I do laundry and periodically clean underneath. Still, I was shocked by how much had accumulated down there since the last time I cleaned it. A family of rats would have been proud to call it home. emoticon It will now be a scheduled maintenance event. Not only does it hamper the function of the dryer, but it is a fire hazard. Please check!

And while we're on the subject, it's good to check your dryer vent located outside of your house. If it get's plugged, it will also hamper your dryer's ability to function. Plus, if the flap get's stuck open, you lose valuable heat.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I check the lint traps every time new stuff is put in the dryer. I'm good at not checking all the pockets so you never know what you will find. In my house it was the one thing I could depend on that the kids would do also, especially my daughter. They would either have to beat the others to make some money or retrieve what was theirs.... emoticon
