Can we have a collective sigh!! The holiday week is over! Now I personally had a great holiday week but non the less it adds an element of distraction and stress (even good stress is stress) that when all is said and done it's nice to get back you the old comfy schedule.
Now that's a funny thought. Esp if you read my last blog. The old comfy schedule is I've missed my work outs! That's a change from a few years ago. WIN!
Saturday I got up for the swim class. Now post holiday long road trips that should have been shorter (thanks to traffic)... good comfort food, ect. I was NOT feeling the excitement of going to swim class. I got up and got going. As I told my husband "it's not that I don't want to go, I just don't want to go". I knew when I got there I would be happy and have fun and I love to swim, it's very relaxing and before I know it 1 1/2 hours is over. So I dragged myself there. And I was right! It was a good work out and a fun swim.
Saturday was Game day! State rivalry! Let's just say My Ducks Won the Day! (I will say I'm sad that we aren't going to the rose bowl but I'm happy that we are done until January. I need my saturdays back! )
Sunday was skiing. My daughter came skiing with us for the first time in 3 years! It was nice to have her with us. It was low snow pack and the conditions where a bit icy. She is a boarder and we are skiers. It's been a long time for her so she was going slow to get the feel back and so I was snow plowing behind her. It was not a work out ski trip for sure. But it was great to be up there as a family doing some thing we all love to do.
Monday I had planned to go for a morning run. Well the east winds are back! Its sustained at 26 mph, with gust of to 40... So I did the dreaded and went to the gym after work. It actually wasn't a bad time except I wanted to swim and well.... the pool is broken (ALWAYS).
So there you have it 3 days in a row. Now I'm working on a plan to start my tri training.
