The Excuse

Tuesday, November 27, 2012

My hubby says that the reason he wasn't home yesterday for me to go get Natalie from school on time as usual is that he could not find the car in the store parking lot. The reason he couldn't find the car he says is that he didn't recognize it. I bought a 5" oval magnet at the Women's Half Marathon Expo that says "13.1 - I'm Only Half Crazy" in hot pink. I put it on the rear of the car. He said he passed the car repeatedly but knew it wasn't his because of that sign. He had to walk to the front of the cars to recognize our car. Am I buying this excuse?? Hmmmm.

Linda wrote that if I could jog it, I really don't need to have a car to get her regularly. Good point.

emoticon That is too much! But having seeing how people can be so set in their ways, that they can't adapt to a change, I can actually believe your hubby's excuse. My Mom's hubby would be mortified at having anything attached or stuck to his car, he is ultra conservative.

Sounds like your car is a real "chick magnet" and your DH at the moment maybe not so much!!

When we first got a white car (in the land of 85% white cars) we had to tie a ribbon to the radio antenna to prevent aimless wandering in parking lots. I'm buying his excuse! emoticon

AND, proud of you for buying the magnet! You deserve to be SOOOO proud!!!

Why do men think we're so dense that we can't recognize a real excuse from one that they make up on the spur of the moment? My hubby does the same thing on occasion. I know that you can run to Natalie's school to pick her up but really does that fact have anything to do with the excuse? It would be nice if you had the choice - the ability to say to yourself, "Maybe instead of driving to Natalie's school, I'll jog instead." I don't mean to rant but it is a pet peeve of mine when people are inconsiderate and treat us like we're dumb. You are so nice to not challenge him, Marsha. Putting a positive spin on it keeps you from getting too angry!

I know I could do the same thing. I liked Linda's comment about your doing that jog on a regular basis.

I haven't yet bought the sign. But if I *do* spring for the Wisconsin Dells Oly Tri, I probably WILL buy the triathlon version!

Seriously, seriously funny! Have a great today! emoticon
