We are home from the hospital

Tuesday, November 27, 2012

We spent 9 days in the hospital. I stayed in the hospital with my husband and it's a good thing I did. If I had not been watching the medicine that was being given to my husband on Friday night, he would have been overdosed. I caught it and made her change the medicine after an argument with her saying that it was the right one. I told her she better get the right medicine because she was not going to give him the medicine that she had. In 4 days of being there, I had left my kids with him and I was gone a total of 4 1/2 hours. I had never been in the hospital except for delivering my children and my husband had never been in the hospital before. I was not used to how they do things. I hope I will never have to be in that position again. I am soo glad Him and I are home!

Wishing your husband wellness and glad you were there to catch that nurse! I don't know what's wrong with people these days! Best of luck!

I'm so glad that you stood up for what you knew instead of assuming the nurse was right just b/c she was the "professional." I had a cousin to die in a hospital b/c the morphine pump overdosed him and no one noticed the symptoms until it was too late. So, I have special sensitivity to hospital mistakes, patient rights, and good vs bad health care workers. At the same time, 4 of my family members are nurses and one a doctor. They are, of course, the good ones. emoticon

I'm just glad you'all are home and doing better.

OMG, that nurse was horrible! To think of all the decent, capable people out of work for YEARS and that incompetent person actually had the nerve to ARGUE with a patient's SPOUSE! Talk about disrespect!

May karma have its way with that horrible person - and I wish you and your spouse the best!
