My No Free Lunch Policy.

Well, it is 10:15 and I have to get up at 4:30 am. But I really had the need to check in and say hi. I did well today, better than I thought I would. I decided to put myself on a "no free lunch" policy. Basically I have to do something to get something.

So getting up on time and parking my car a distance from the office = breakfast. Walkies at work = lunch. Dog walk = dinner. Stretching, ST, or at the very least 24 oz of water for snacks. I know it is not a perfect system but it is a start and it is something I can wrap my head around.

So, I did get up on time and did my two walks. I was short on steps so I did another short walk and a quick grocery trip and I made a bit over 13,000. I'm at the very bottom of my calorie range, which I hope will help make up for the weekend.

So, all and all, it was a very good day. Hopefully this is back to normal.

    Great ideas to get you moving. I need to think about some too. I am really going to have to push it to loose 8lbs by Christmas in the cookies and candy season. Hugs Susan

    That sounds like a really good way to motivate yourself and make walking even more of an ingrained part of your day.

    I like this idea. Nice going. Whatever it takes to keep oneself motivated. It does sound like you need to work on your sleep though.

    Good system! Nothing In Life Is Free? I actually have used a little dog training philosphy in my weight loss journey, LOL. I figured I should be at least as kind and patient with myself as I try to be with the dogs. :-D

    I like the idea of the no free lunch plan for you, for everyone in fact, but I don't like the idea of you trading off food if you do not make your goals. Or, on the same line, rewarding yourself with breakfast if you do meet your goals? I'm afraid it may work into breakfast or food having negative connotations or something. How about money? Money goes in 1 jar for each goal you meet each day.... A quarter for every goal met. Then, the money goes in another jar for every goal you do not make.... No walk? Quarter goes in the "no" jar. The money in the completed goal jar goes for something just for you.... A CD, a book, a new shirt.... whatever! The money in the goals not met jar goes to your favorite dog charity or even worse (shudder) your favorite cat charity or something else maybe you can't love.... I have a hard time loving cats msyelf, but know you have a couple! Anyhow, that money goes to something else. What do you think? I kinda likeit and may have to try this one myself!

    Great idea! Somehow we never forget to eat so linking exercise to eating is a good move I thinks.

    There is a book you have to read. It's called The Power of Habit. It reminded me of your plan. I think you'd like it....
