Not sure what happened last week - I woke up Monday morning feeling sick, and it only got worse over the course of the week. By Wednesday morning I didnt think I would make it through the work day, so I ended up going home after about an hour and a half, and I slept ALL DAY. I also really couldnt eat anything because the smell of food was making me want to vomit. Needless to say I was a bit worried about Thanksgiving.
Thursday morning I woke up, ate breakfast without feeling sick, and watched some the Macys parade - I was pretty disappointed that they spent more time showing the announcers/commenters and not much of the parade at all. So I turned it off half way through and went back to sleep until J texted me around 10:30 that we had to be at the vice wing commander's house by 1pm. I wasnt expecting to have to be there until 4pm, so I felt a bit rushed! But I got all ready, packed my bag to stay at J's that night, and headed over. We went to the vice wing commander's house for Thanksgiving dinner - him and his wife are super sweet. J's boss and the boss's family were also there, as well as a few other squadron commander families. There were about 15 of us total. I drank 2 glasses of wine before dinner and felt very dizzy. Then I ate dinner and essentially blew up - I seriously felt so so bloated, and I didnt even eat a lot! Because of my stomach virus all week, I was afraid to really eat anything. We then stayed there for like another 3 hours and the longer we stayed there, the more my stomach kept hurting. By the time we got back to J's house, I was really worried. I was extremely bloated - like pregnant bloated; super nauseaus; and having other stomach issues causing me to stay in the bathroom for a LONG time :( J found some pepto in the house, and that helped enough that I could lay down at least. We watched some football and then went to sleep. I felt somewhat better in the morning and went home to work on some craft projects. However, once I ate breakfast I was super sick again, so I ended up sleeping for a while. I dragged myself out of the house to go to JCPenney because I really wanted a new coat that they had and I figured it was on sale for Black Friday - and it was! $40! I love it! I also picked out some outdoor running gear that was on sale. Then went home to lay down some more because my stomach was still not feeling better. I went to J's around dinner time and he cooked for me, but I couldnt keep it down :( Felt so bad. We watched some more football and then went to sleep. Saturday morning I still felt really sick - seriously, what was giving? I went home and slept some more. Then I finally started feeling a bit better so I started working on my curtains.
A few months ago I decided I wanted to make curtains for my home office in a fun pattern that made me happy and inspired some creativity to do more crafts. But my sewing machine wasnt working :( I somehow broke the needle and had to replace that; and then I couldnt get the bobbin to thread through properly. Well, I finally fixed it all!! So I was able to start my curtain making. About 1/4 of the way through, J texted me that he was in my driveway - what a surprise! We watched the Notre Dame game, but I fell asleep during it. I seriously watched more football this weekend than I have in my entire life!!
Sunday morning J and I went out to breakfast at IHOP because I was finally feeling better and craving chocolate chocolate chip pancakes! And I didnt get sick after eating! Hooray!! Also the best news ever - J told me that WE are going to England in the spring!! I am seriously so excited! I've never been out of the country, and having been an English Literature major in college, it's been a dream to go to England and visit famous literary and historical places! And J said he would take me to see all of them!! And we could go see shows - he even searched online to see if there was a 2013 schedule up for shows! Ahhh!!! I was so excited I couldnt even sleep last night!!
I also finished my curtains!!! After breakfast, J went to work and I set out on first grocery shopping and throwing some ingredients in the crockpot for chili, and then I spent the day sewing my curtains! They turned out way better than I could have hoped! I havent hung them up yet because I still need to get a curtain rod, but once I do, I will share pictures! I have never sewn anything except pillows, so to be able to say I made curtains is huge!! Next up - homemade Christmas stockings!! That will probably happen sometime this coming weekend :)
I didnt get in any exercise last week except Monday morning and because I had been bloated so much last week and so sick, I had no idea what my scale would say when I weighed in yesterday morning, but it moved down! I have lost 4 pounds so far this month, and am back to my weight before I went to NJ in October! Score! Seriously, all I have been doing is wearing my fitbit everyday, tracking my food on MyFitnessPal (with my fitbit syncing) and staying within +/-100 calories of what it says I should be eating. Occassionally exercising. Mostly just being mindful and not overdoing it anything. I am losing at a normal pace, and I feel good. Right now I am on par to meet my goal of 8lbs lost before the end of the year. I just have to keep it up. But the best part is that I am not depriving myself. I dont feel hungry. I am just making overall good decisions. :)
