Okay, so I am already a little bummed that I gained back a few pounds from my recent vacation to Florida that I really want to focus on losing and definitely not gaining anymore through the holiday season.
Plan of Attack.
First and Foremost - TRACK TRACK TRACK!!!
You hear everyone say it but you don't realize how important it is until you actually do it. This thanksgiving, I actually made myself in charge of all the sides and I cut down the sugar and butter to about half of almost every dish we made. In addition, I even made my plate and then set aside half for another meal and after ALL OF THAT, my tracker still displayed an average of 750cals/plate. Granted, we had like 5 sides and pie so not totally shocked but on normal years, I rarely track and i eat my whole plate so that could easily be 2000 calories at one sitting. Wow. Moral of story - tracking definitely put things into perspective.
Second - Plan workouts reasonably.
Most years, I do very little workouts during the holiday because I get so wrapped up in all the holiday activities...parties, lunches, dinners, house decorating, tree-trimming, gift wrapping, etc. So this year, I decided to make a reasonable plan. Instead of my 60min workout I typically plan to do each and every day, Im going to stick to ST 3days/week and 2 days of full hour cardio workouts (and then 20 mins on the other other days). If i have more time, more power to me but if not, that amount is still manageable and I can lower my calorie intakes since I'm not burning as much.
Three - Keep Sparking. i am aiming to do one blog a week until New Years. I feel this will keep me more accountable than just tracking.
Four - FILL UP ON WATER!! Ive been slacking lately. I feel better and always lose more weight when I drink more water.
So thats my plan! Hopefully, I'll be back in January to tell you I succeeded!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!
