No, We Didn't Get Depressed!

Monday, November 26, 2012

My mother passed away unexpectedly one year on Dec. 23rd and we considered it blessed. It was the only day of the year when the obituaries were not on the front page. The cover page was religious with Silent Night and manger scenes and the kids were on their way home from college on a snowy night. The fireplace was burning, trees and house were lit for the holidays, the minister stopped by and it was a beautiful time. Hours were the day after Christmas and many friends thought it was too bad she died at this time of year, but we disagreed saying it was a lovely time. Our faith in God carried us through. Of course, we miss her, but know she is in a better place.
