Tonight will be night 3 that i haven't eaten after 9ish

Monday, November 26, 2012

over the past two days i have limited my food/snacks after 9pm. I wake up feeling so much better. Tonight may be a challange since i am working a 10-10 shift. my normal routine was to always have a meal or a big snack after work as a treat for a long day. I know i have to resist that behavior. i have really eaten well today and i want to keep it that way.. have a great day everyone.

Good for you! A job well done! This is one of my downfalls too and I try to do what Angela (Angritter) told me that she does, just like she's told you here, with keeping fruit and veggies by her side when relaxing in the evening! Good idea and it really works too! Good luck to you!! We're all in the same boat! emoticon

I take a plate of chopped up fruits or veggies with me to bed with some yogurt to dip it in or eat. It keeps me happy so I can snack in front of the TV, as long as it is the good kind of snacking. Plus, I am getting all my servings in and I am not depriving myself. And I am not normally hungry the next day until noon, so it works in many different ways for me.

Just wanted to share a secret of success that has worked for me. The carbs are major, but it's the only time of the day that I eat carb heavy. Plus, I work out every day so I NEED those carbs to keep me moving the next day!

You are doing great and you can definitely do this! I feel like I have been on SparkPeople for 2 years with all the changes I have made in my food habits.

And I never thought about food as a reward being akin to a doggie treat. But it makes sense! And now I feel bad for my poor doggies!

I always used to think of food as a reward or treat, too. Until I read the little inspirational message "Do not reward yourself with food. You are not a dog." and I started thinking about it! Wow! That is how we train animals! Surely I can have a more appropriate reward/comfort than what we give dogs!

Can you keep a healthy snack such as carrots or grapes around in case you're actually hungry when you get home? Going to bed hungry is also not healthy!
