Do not fall victim to the fat-laden food court! Bring MRE's on your shopping excursions. (My HOW-

Does the saying, “Shop ’til you drop” really resonate with you?

Do you find yourself scarfing down pizza and soda from the food court mid-mall trip?

Do you get so tired and cranky while shopping that you break out in a fight over the last playstation at Walmart?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, then you need the GISG Holiday Shopping MRE’s!!!!

What are MRE’s you ask? MEALS READY TO EAT. That is right ladies – holiday shopping is like combat. You need your energy high, your patience long lasting and your focus to be strong. All of this is possible if you have the right nutrition.

Let me tell ya, you are not gonna be lookin’ so good in those skinny jeans come Christmas or your sparkly black dress on New Years if you find yourself eating fried chicken, fries, pizza and soda in the food court. All you have to do is pack a little bit of food, and you will feel so great through your shopping excursion that you will be willing to come home and whip up your favorite salmon dish when you get home.

So prepare yourself for the lines, the other shoppers and the traffic and go score some deals with the GISG Holiday Shopping MRE’s!

Here’s what you need…

PROTEIN - Not just any protein, you need protein that will last the day in your purse. BYO Chicken just will not work here. Hardboiled eggs will make you stink. You need good old whey protein powder and a shaker bottle. You can find water easily to mix with it. Carry a back up baggy too, in case the lines are a little too long. Protein is the most important of these too – it will keep your blood sugar stabilized so you don’t get too tired or get cranky and fight a fellow shopper over the last item on the shelf!

CARBS – Microwaving food is not going to be an option. You need something that requires little effort, no fork and no spoon. Enter fruit. An apple, a bag of grapes or even mango slices will work quite well here. Healthy carbs are great, but you don’t want to eat them alone. They need to be paired with a protein and a fat otherwise you will find yourself still hungry soon after you finish your fruit.

FAT – Fat will go a long way with keeping you satiated. It packs more calories in a smaller punch, which is good while you are shopping because you are burning tons of calories getting those deals! The most convenient food you can put into your MRE are nuts! Pecans, almonds, cashews, walnuts… you name ‘em – grab ‘em! They will also help keep your blood sugar stabilized so you won’t get tired and cranky while standing in line.

So there you have it! That’s what you need to bring with you on your shopping excursion.

So tell me, what are you putting in your GISG Holiday Shopping MRE?

Sounds like a plan!! I make oatmeal bars with whey protein powder and olive oil which are great meal replacements (I eat them for breakfast) but they would make a great food court stand in too I think. Enjoy your shopping!
