Yesterday my Good Friend Patti2255ís blog was

That brought back memories

I TOTALLY understood her mistake quote.
My Dad was always so NEGATIVE. I vividly
remember one instance of making a mistake
and being yelled at and told not to even try because
I would just make a mistake and cause
someone else to have to fix it!
Another time in junior high school, I was just
starting to put a new bulb in a lamp when he
entered the room.
"What are you doing?" he fussed.
"Changing the light bulb. The old one is
bad," I said.
"Well, leave it alone. I'll do it. You'll probably
break it or something."

Therefore, I have always been hesitant about
doing anything on my own without first
being told to.

I am 57 and am STILL trying to overcome
many erroneous "teachings" such as this

But enough negativity

    How things sometimes occur !
Today in a totally unrelated email
was this quote from George Bernard Shaw

    "A life spent making mistakes
    is not only more honorable,
    but more useful
than a life spent doing nothing."

It's scary how much influence a parent's words have on us. Try to remain the positive person you already are. emoticon

Sorry your father was a bear. You are such a loving, positive person, a reflection of our Heavenly Father. Thanks! emoticon emoticon
