Have enjoyed a much calmer day and actually got to spend most of the afternoon by myself.
Another success for Isaac today. The quizzers were acknowledged during worship and were asked to each recite a memory verse after the coach had shared what their awards were at the meet. Isaac's verse was James 1:12 and he actually held the microphone and said the verse! We weren't sure what he would do, but glad he made it through so well.
Once home from worship and lunch (we went to McDonald's) I got things ready for Bible quizzing, wrapped stocking stuffers and then settled down to listen to the first of eight videos for the new study I am starting by Beth Moore.
I am curious why this study is one that I need to undertake. All I know is God has brought it to my mind in different ways for about two months and once I found the student book at Hastings I knew it was time. I never find the student books there!
I thoroughly enjoyed the first video and found the background presented regarding James and his relationship with Jesus (half brother). Great insights about how Jesus moved though relationships (natural & spiritual families). Now I've got homework to do! Typically it is done a week at a time, but since I'm on my own I don't have to be quite as strict if I don't have time.
Then it was time to be off to Bible quizzing. The kids did great for their memory work and several had been working on the new verses they need to add to the first nine.
Once home we had leftovers (turkey & dressing or spaghetti) and then I helped Maegann with her Latin lesson. She struggled as her eyes have really been aching today, but we made it through. Praying her new lenses come in sooner rather than later this week.
Anyway....just a nice, calm day after the busy ones I just came through!
