Linnea was born on 11/8/12 weighing in at 7lbs 11oz and 19.5 in long!! She is absolutely perfect!
Her birth story is pretty short. We had a planned c-section so we went to the hospital at 6:00 am and it was a whirlwind from there! We got checked into our room and surgery prep began pretty quickly. At 7:20 I was walked down to the OR, which I just have to take a moment to say was just about the strangest thing ever. . . Being walked into the OR, climbing up onto the operating table, etc. . . strange. By 7:30 I was on the table and ready to go so they allowed my husband to come into the OR. C waited very patiently for us in our room. And little Linnea was born at 7:48am. She cried and cried at first and while I was being put back together, Paul got to take her back to our room to meet her big sister.
The day went just as we had planned. I could not have asked for it to go any better than it did. We had requested that our family not come until 6:00 that evening to allow us family time, time for me to come down from the meds, and to attempt breastfeeding. Thankfully they all obliged.
Linnea took to breastfeeding like a champ. She came out ready to eat!! And, knock on wood, we've not encountered any big problems with it yet!!
She's 17 days old today and we are still not in the swing of things. She's not really into sleeping at night yet, and I'm not really into putting her down at all! (I swear, I don't think I will ever get sick of hearing the noises that she makes! Even as I type this, she's laying right next to my leg on the bed!)
So, sorry for the delay in posting!! It's been a long 17 days with lots of visitors, Thanksgiving, and all things that come along with a newborn.
Here are a few pics from the hospital:
That's Paul with Linnea after going back to our room.

Those were just some pictures my sister took and edited for us.
And here she is coming home!!
In other, more Spark related news, I beleive I ended up gaining roughly 40lbs during the pregnancy. When I last weighed myself, I had dropped about 20lbs and was coming in at 196.2. I started at 175.6 so I have about 20.6 to lose. I can't work out for 6 weeks after surgery so I have awhile to go, but my doctor told me I can walk, nothing that would strain me or anything, but I can walk, so I hope to go do some indoor mall walking or something soon when I can better get into the swing of being a mom to a newborn again! Until then, and until I can actually workout again, I'm going to rely on breastfeeding and a better diet to take off some of the weight!
I look forward to being on Spark more often again and really hope that I can get back to it all pretty easily!!
